Gently Down the Stream uses material from a succession of dreams taken from eight years of journals to exorcise the mysterious ritualistic power of repeating images. The gritty streets are not the only landscape to be reclaimed, as Su Friedrich suggests in Gently Down The Stream, constructed from fourteen of the filmmaker’s dreams.
