How do I get Kindle Books from Libby by OverDrive?

Jump to:Returning your Kindle Book | Renewing Kindle Book  | Help

Step 1: Open a web browser and go to sfpl.overdrive.com , or click the link. 

(Or, open the Libby by OverDrive app, go to your Shelf, and direct Libby to send your ebook to your Kindle device or app. Then, skip to Step 7. )  

 

 

Step 2: Click Kindle Books from the menu.

 

Step 3: Look for an AVAILABLE title, then click BORROW.

What is Adobe Digital Editions and why do I need it?

-by email to info@sfpl.org. Please include: 
-library card number
-full name
-date of birth
-telephone number
-current residence address 

-online via Chat or Text  (please provide the above info and your email address)
-by telephone: 415-557-4400 (please provide the above info and your email address)
-In person: present your library card or valid ID at any SFPL location .

What is a Teacher Card and how can I get one?

Teacher Cards are for borrowing items needed for curriculum support / classroom use. Teachers may use their adult card for library materials checked out for personal use. 

A "teacher" is a person currently employed as a teacher, educator, administrator, librarian, childcare provider, or afterschool program provider at a school, childcare facility, or afterschool program. Teachers who teach in or reside in the City and County of San Francisco are eligible for a Teacher Card.
