Slim on gay content but high on gay style, it relates a trio of modern stories set in three different parts of southern Italy’s seductive city. In the first tale, Aurora (Iaia Forts) sees her smug, nouveau riche world crumble when her shady, never-seen husband sleeps with his secretary. In the closing comic story, Libera (also played by Forte) has a similar problem with her lazy husband’s infidelity, but she hatches a plan to exact revenge and profit. Carmela’s tale is the one that holds most interest for gay audiences. Handsome Sebastiano arrives home from reform school; Carmela doesn’t mind that her son is gay, but she can’t cope with his questions about his long-gone father. Amid plans for a neighborhood wedding (and Sebastiano’s seduction of a local salesman), the truth comes out.

British-based filmmaker Toichi Nakata invited his Japanese pal Minoru to visit him in London. Minoru—who has cerebral palsy—tells Toichi he has a confession to make. Minoru and Me is the (real life) video result. It's a horribly honest drama: Toichi becomes obsessed with portraying Minoru as disabled and dependent; Minoru becomes increasingly disgusted and unable to state what he's traveled so far to say. In their arguments and silences, there's a lot to learn about disability, about coming out, and about the role of the filmmaker.
