Problem is, he's gotten to the make-up box before her. Directed by Chris Bernard (maker of Letter to Brezhnev), A Little Bit of Lippy is a terrific, stylish blend of surreal cinematography (including a hilarious visual spoof of Brian de Palma's Dressed to Kill) and absurdist Mike Leigh–style observation (when Marian consults a famous drag queen for advice on what to do with her cross-dressing hubby, he announces, "Underpants or ladies' briefs—what's the difference? It's what's inside that counts."
