Enjoy the unique sounds of Melody Yan Fusion music. 

Yan is a Guzheng player, educator, and performer from Sichuan, China.  She adapts American classic and contemporary music to Chinese guzheng to create her unique fusion music, mixing the rich tone of the West with the charm of the East.   

Yan will be joined by Jennifer Li, a student from Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco, who has studied Guzheng with Melody for 6 years.   

Chinese Guzheng is an instrument with origins in the Warring States period, giving it around 2500 years of history. Stretched over a hollow wooden soundboard are 21 strings with moveable bridges beneath, adjustable along a pentatonic scale. This dynamic instrument is prominent in Chinese culture, the piano of the East.
