San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) presents the return of Everybody’s Climate this July. This series of programming aims to inspire patrons of all ages to take action for a safer, greener and more sustainable future.   

"Community-centered climate programming remains relevant in 2025, as scientists and journalists can attest. Our world is impacted by changing climate conditions and ongoing abuses to our air, soil and water. The lineup we have put together for July provides the opportunity for more artistic reflection and candid conversations about these issues," says Gregory Hom, Environmental Center Librarian. 

Everybody’s Climate offers a variety of events, including films, concerts, book club discussions and poetry readings, and includes both in-person and virtual programming. Throughout July, SFPL partners with the San Francisco Environment Department for several programs. Learn how to take advantage of San Francisco City rebates and incentives during Electrify Your Home. Teens are invited to join the Climate Action Book Club, which includes a craft activity. These series are hosted at various library locations across the City. 

Everybody’s Climate kicks off on July 5 with Library Day at the New Farm in the Bayview, featuring book giveaways, live music and arts and crafts. Plus, there will be a special visit from the Bookmobile! On July 6, learn about free energy upgrades for qualifying homeowners and tenants. This program will be available in Spanish and Chinese in the Chinese Center at the Main Library. On July 12, Steven Mayers and Jonathan Freedman will lead a virtual panel on processing climate fear and grief, resolving conflict, and envisioning a way forward together. Join The Center for Climate Integrity, Corey Riday-White, and Chelsea Linsley as they explore the climate-induced insurance crisis on July 24 at the Main Library. Yana Garcia, California Secretary for Environmental Protection, will discuss her work at the Environmental Protection Agency and its mission to restore, protect, and enhance the environment on July 29 via Zoom. The series concludes with a performance of The Jingwei Bird by Del Sol Quartet and San Francisco Poet Laureate Genny Lim on July 31.
